To test our CNC Skills for fabrication I was tasked to create a piece of furniture that could be milled on the 3 axis CNC machine. I decided to challenge myself by creating my design using a parametric Solution created in grasshopper. the design of the table is generated through the trigonometric sin function. This method of design gives the table its flowing curve as well as makes the table extremely strong because of the way it distributes its load to the base of the curves. Then rationalize the form to be able to mill it on the CNC machine for assembly.

Created the form without using any geometry in Rhinoceros. I used a grid of points and then moved them vertically according to a compound sine curve. While doing this I made sure the density of the grid was the appropriate density to keep the incline from being to steep creating a gap between pieces. I then created a Surface from the grid of points. Then used a contour to create the sections that would be cut out by the CNC and assembled to become the coffee table.
